Youth Negotiators Toolkit – Africa Youth Partnership (YOTA)

The climate action focus of the Africa Youth Partnership seeks to support young people in Africa to contribute more effectively to addressing the global climate emergency.

Our theory of change is simple: if the continent’s youth could acquire the capacities and skills they need to build a stronger movement, they would be better placed to improve, expand and consolidate their efforts in holding duty bearers to account and in influencing the global agenda to address the climate emergency. The Partnership is designed with an overall focus on youth across sub-Saharan Africa, and a specific focus on six deep-dive countries in western Africa – Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, Senegal and Sierra Leone.

Toolkit Focus: Equips African youth with knowledge and strategies to effectively participate in international climate negotiations, particularly within the UNFCCC framework.
Features: It covers negotiation procedures, climate finance, and adaptation policies, and it includes practical negotiation tactics.
